Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill
To take advantage of the Colosseum Ticket Skip-the-Line, go to the appointed meeting point and join the group (Arch of Constantine on the Colosseum side). Our staff will be happy to welcome you and accompany you inside the monument. It will also provide you with all the information you need to be able to carry out the visit in the best way. So what does your self-guided tour include? There are only two stages to be undertaken: first, the entrance to the Colosseum, where you can take advantage of the first level with a panoramic terrace and the museum included therein; secondly, a visit, for anyone who wants to, inside the Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum, included in the same Colosseum Ticket Skip-the-Line used before.
Then, buy a Colosseum Skip the Line Ticket and visit it in total autonomy. Observe the arena floor Colosseum from above, where gladiators once fought, and the Colosseum underground, a labyrinth of cells and animal cages.
With the Colosseum Ticket Skip-the-Line avoid the long queues. After the entry procedures and security checks, wait for your guide to arrange a meeting point with you and the group and a set time, about an hour, to meet you again and enter the Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum together. All this guaranteeing, with an added value, an extra accompaniment for continuous assistance for each of you. Inside the Palatine Hill, your guide will be happy to show you the path to take for a more accurate visit of the hill and the Roman Forum, where temples, arches, columns and shiny marble are just waiting for you!
If you wish to continue your visit inside the Colosseum beyond the time set by your companion, you can do so in complete tranquility, but lose the daily entrance.

I recently had the pleasure of embarking on a self-guided tour through Ancient and Recent, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! What really sets this agency apart is their incredible ability to blend history with modern exploration. The tour felt like a journey through time, all while allowing me the freedom to explore at my own pace.
The digital guide provided by Ancient and Recent was incredibly intuitive, filled with fascinating insights, detailed maps, and even hidden gems that I would have missed if I were simply following a traditional tour. The technology they used was top-notch — easy to navigate, with an option to pause and replay information at any point. I loved how I could tailor the experience to suit my interests, whether I wanted to dive deep into ancient ruins or take a quiet moment at a recent historical site.
Not only did I get a glimpse into the past, but the self-guided format also allowed me to appreciate the present-day significance of these places. I could take my time, savoring each spot without feeling rushed or confined by a group’s schedule. It was a perfect balance of independence and immersion.
If you’re someone who enjoys the freedom to explore on your own terms while still getting rich historical context, Ancient and Recent’s self-guided tour is the way to go. It’s a rare combination of flexibility, educational value, and adventure — I’ll definitely be booking again for my next trip!

Review for Ancient and Recent’s Self-Guided Tour
My recent experience with Ancient and Recent’s self-guided tour was absolutely amazing! I’ve always enjoyed history, but this tour took it to a whole new level by giving me the freedom to explore at my own pace while still providing rich, detailed information at every stop. The beauty of the self-guided format is that I didn’t have to rush through any of the sites, and I could spend as much time as I wanted soaking in the surroundings.
The app and digital guide were well-designed, intuitive, and packed with fascinating content. It’s not just about seeing the sites — it’s about experiencing the story behind them. Each location had insightful details, including historical background, cultural significance, and even some fun anecdotes that made everything feel more alive. I found myself constantly amazed by how much I was learning, yet I never felt overwhelmed or lost.
What stood out to me most was how Ancient and Recent seamlessly blended ancient history with modern-day relevance. It wasn’t just a “past vs. present” experience — it felt like a continuous narrative, connecting eras and cultures in a way that gave me a true sense of the place’s journey through time.
Overall, this self-guided tour is perfect for anyone who values flexibility, independence, and a deeper connection to the history of a destination. If you’re looking for a tour that combines education, exploration, and freedom, Ancient and Recent has truly mastered the art of self-guided experiences. I’ll definitely be back for another adventure!
